Happy March! Can you believe it’s March already? Before we know it, we’ll be sipping mulled wine an wrestling with Christmas trees again. If anyone asks, this is the reason I give for the fact that my Christmas wreath is still hanging on the front door.
I’ve been enjoying the sun and sea this month in South Africa, before I have to pack up and brace myself for the frosty spring in London. I’ve enjoyed loads of fruits, salads and of course my beloved avocados. Here are my top eats from last month.
Happy Friday! I have another delicious breakfast recipe for you. As you can tell, I’m currently on a little bit of a health kick.. Well at breakfast anyway. I figured if I start the morning right, I’m entitled to a trough of fries by the end of the day.
On this particular morning I was craving trifle. You know, the trifle you get at your third cousin’s wedding that was made by his aunt and has been sitting around for a few hours so the sponge fingers have all but disintegrated.. Yep that trifle. Since it was 9am in the morning, I decide to make a healthy version and this is what I came up with.
I realise that January is fast coming to an end but… Happy New Year! Would you believe me if I told you my holiday-haze ended this past Monday? It’s been an insane festive season with far too much of everything. I’ve hardly slept, I partied to the point of no return and forgot what leafy greens were.. It was awesome!
Unfortunately the urgent emails are flooding my inbox, so it’s time to take off the beer goggles and be a grown-up. Since I’ve spent most of the week trying to redeem myself professionally, I decided to face the dreaded monster that is fitness this week too. As motivation, I made myself this sweet protein smoothie to get myself back on the wagon.
Today is possibly the foggiest day in the history of London. Being someone who loves any excuse to have a lazy day, I have spent most of the day bing-watching Friends and eating leftovers. I have always been a bit of a night owl. Of late I find myself calling it a night when other people are hitting the snooze button. As a result my eating schedule is ‘slightly’ warped. My current sleeping pattern is officially a mess and the concept of breakfast has gone out the window. I wake up giddy with hunger and wanting to eat pretty much everything. Cereal and almond milk are just not going to cut it, so I break out a pan and make this tasty wonder. Whether you are having it for breakfast or lunch, there quesadillas are a winner.
